Free, neutral solar savings calculators

We help homeowners understand whether rooftop solar is worth it — in seconds, without signing up, and without anyone trying to sell them something.

What we do

EcoStimate provides free solar savings calculators for homeowners across 5 countries. Enter your electricity bill, select your region, and instantly see your estimated monthly savings, government subsidies, payback period, and 25-year returns.

Every calculation uses live electricity tariff data fetched directly from official government sources — not estimates, not vendor figures. Rates are updated automatically every two weeks.

Our principles

Neutral. We don't sell solar panels, installation services, or financing. We have no commercial relationship with any solar company. Our only revenue is from non-targeted display advertising.

Transparent. Every calculation shows exactly which tariff rate was used, where sun hour data comes from, and what assumptions underpin the 25-year projection.

Private. We don't collect your electricity bill, location, or any personal data. Nothing you enter is stored or transmitted anywhere. The calculator runs entirely in your browser.

Free, always. EcoStimate will always be free to use. No signup, no paywall, no premium tier.

Data sources

Electricity tariff rates are sourced from official government and regulatory bodies in each country — CERC and state SERCs for India, the Clean Energy Regulator for Australia, ANEEL for Brazil, the Bundesnetzagentur for Germany, and METI for Japan. Rates are verified and updated fortnightly.

Solar irradiance (sun hours) data is sourced from NASA POWER and the Global Solar Atlas. Installation cost benchmarks are based on publicly reported industry averages updated quarterly.

Disclaimer

EcoStimate estimates are indicative only. Actual solar savings depend on your specific roof orientation, shading, installer pricing, local grid tariffs, and usage patterns. Always obtain quotes from at least three certified local installers before making an investment decision.
